Why is capitalism used as an excuse to impoverish 97% of US citizens?

3% OWN 97% of the US, and yet they pay a much smaller portion of taxes on their income than the poorer 97%. Why does waxy Mitch protest when every time someone mentions trying to get them to pay a share, (I didn't say fair share because they will never do that).
