How do I thin my hair at home without using a razor or thinning scissors?

My hair is SUPER annoying and when its wet, it makes a REALLY annyoing waxy noise. I like the length, but I'm starting not to like it at all. :( I neeed it thin without the use of thinning scissors or/and razor. HELP NEEDED!
